SUMMARY:Young Adult and Campus Ministry Leadership Conference 2024
DESCRIPTION:Each year\, the Office of Young Adult and Campus Ministries hosts a Leadership Conference in June. This annual conference is an opportunity for Episcopal leaders in ministry with young adults (ages 18-30) on and off college campuses to meet and connect with one another and to be nourished and nurtured in their ministry. \nWe are thrilled to have our conference at St. Asaph’s Episcopal Church which is a 5-10 minute walk from the Philadelphia Hilton (where we have a block of rooms if you choose to stay there). \nOur hope is that the participants will: \n\nfind rest and sanctuary since we have been struggling hard and carrying heavy loads\nconnect and reconnect with colleagues involved in ministry\nbe better equipped to engage young adults where they live\, work and study\nlearn from one another and share resources\nbuild upon their skills and networks to assist them in ministry\nleave feeling that they have feasted at the table and are ready to do the work God has called them to do\n\nConference participants – both leaders who are new to this work as well as those who have longstanding roots in this ministry – will hear from speakers\, focus on intentional conversations\, build relationships\, and learn from one another. \nContact the Rev. DESCRIPTION:Registration is open through May 1 for Nuevo Amanecer (“New Dawn”) 2024\, a popular biennial gathering that celebrates Latino ministries across The Episcopal Church. The June 3-6 event is co-hosted by the Office of Latino/Hispanic Ministries and Kanuga\, a retreat center near Hendersonville\, North Carolina. \nThis churchwide event includes training for church leadership and formation\, as well as time for renewal and networking. In addition to lay leaders\, clergy\, diocesan missioners\, parish staff\, and church planters\, those interested in learning about Latino ministries are also encouraged to attend. The conference welcomes families and offers special activities for children and youth. Programming is offered bilingually through simultaneous interpretation\, so that no one is left out and nothing is repeated. \nThis year’s theme is “Sowing Love and Hope.” Scheduled keynote speakers include the Rt. Rev. David Rice\, bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of San Joaquin; House of Deputies President Julia Ayala Harris; and the Rev. Anthony Guillén\, missioner for Latino/Hispanic Ministries. Presiding Bishop Michael Curry will preach at the opening Eucharist. \n— \nLas inscripciones están abiertas hasta el 1º de mayo para Nuevo Amanecer 2024\, una popular reunión bienal que celebra a los ministerios latinos en toda la Iglesia Episcopal. DESCRIPTION:Registration is open for the next session of the Episcopal Latino Ministry Competency Course\, an innovative eight-day intensive course\, designed for diocesan staff\, clergy\, lay leaders\, and seminarians to gain practical knowledge and cultural competency for Latino/Hispanic ministry. All courses are conducted in English. \nRegistration includes: \n\nProgram tuition.\nHotel and meals for all participants in Atlanta (nights of August 9 to 11)\nAccommodations and meals in Sewanee for non-commuters (nights of August 12 to 16)\nTransportation to and from ATL airport for participants who fly\, transportation in Atlanta and Sewanee for all participants\n\nThe program will begin in Atlanta on Saturday\, August 10\, at 9:00 a.m.\, and it will conclude in Sewanee\, TN on Friday\, August 16\, at 8:00 pm.
